Hello friends,
It's been a long time since I posted on my blog but getting this blog back up has been at the back of my mind for a while. We've had some big changes in our lives and business in the last couple of years and I would love to share some of these small and big moments with you.
At the end of 2016, we made a big move from Canada to Goshen, a small town in Indiana, U.S.A. Our past year has been a year of many transitions. Changing home, work, school for our little one and starting The Imagination Spot almost all over again.
Here's a quick recap of this year.
At the beginning of 2017, I had to start my Etsy shop all over again as you can not change the country your shop was started in. This was quiet a challenge as I lost all the great sale stats and 100+ five star reviews on Etsy. The traffic on my new Etsy shop has been slowly growing and I am thrilled to already have over 115 sales after starting this new shop from scratch.
We bought a house in Goshen this year and it has been very exciting getting my new home studio ready. I love my work nook by the large window which lets a lot of light in and my new order packing station. I am also happy to meet some amazing people in the community and make some new friends in our new hometown.
One highlight of 2017 for me was the Pitch Night competition in Goshen. The Pitch Night competition is organized to help local entrepreneurs with a new business idea or an already established small business. I was one of the seven entrepreneurs who gave a five minute pitch and I was lucky to be one of the four winners this year. I am so thankful for the opportunity. I am also thankful to The Goshen News for interviewing me for their artist's feature and writing a great article about The Imagination Spot.
I am thrilled to add new stocklists to the wholesale side of my business this year as well as introducing some new products to The Imagination Spot. Working on notebooks and notepads was a lot of fun and I am planning on adding new designs to these next year. I also got a chance to do two pop-up shops at West Elm in Indianapolis as well as exhibit at many local shows this year.
Overall 2017 has been full of some challenges as well as some achievements. I am thankful for all the people who have supported us personally as well as in my small business. I have some big goals and plans for next year and I can't wait to get started. After such a long gap on this blog, I am hoping to write more often and share with you our news, products and hopefully some more giveaways and sales in 2018.
Thank you for taking time to read about my year and what's happening with The Imagination Spot. I would like to wish you all Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year from my family to yours.
