Introduction to Linocut Workshop

Join us for an introduction to the lino-cut relief printing technique.

In this 4 hour workshop, you will learn how to use various carving tools and traditional techniques to create a unique one color lino-cut block of your own.

We’ll go over the basics, including tools, cutting techniques, creating your design and transferring it onto a mounted linoleum block. Beginning with some mark-making experimentation on a practice block, you will be guided through the design, carving, inking and printing stages of the production of a final piece which is yours to take home along with your practice prints.

Please bring one or two 4" x 6” sketches (or other reference materials) that you would like to produce. You get to take your hand-carved linoleum block home with you along with any prints you made during the workshop.
